jaggedart is honoured to present Patricia Swannell | Contemplation, a memorial exhibition celebrating Patricia Swannell's artistic legacy, from 5 to 19 November 2026.
The exhibition brings together a selection of rarely seen paintings, including previously undiscovered studies and smaller works found while organising Patricia's studio. Many of these works will be exhibited for the first time.
Patricia described her painting process as dancing. Using a heavily loaded flat brush, she created delicate, overlapping strokes that moved across the paper like a breath or meditation. Her work explores the passage of time, the beauty of nature and the relationship between memory and the present.
Alongside these newly discovered paintings, the exhibition features works from her Marking Time and Threshold series, reflecting her interest in natural rhythms, changing landscapes and the boundaries between the physical and spiritual worlds.
Her later works, inspired by her friend and fellow artist Kazuhito Takadoi, incorporate gold leaf and embroidery, revealing a particularly poetic dimension of her practice.
A share of artwork sales will be donated to Breast Cancer Now's £60 million campaign for metastatic breast cancer, continuing Patricia's fundraising legacy.
